Central Council Review – Have your say!

The Central Council Review Action Group (CRAG) would like as many ringers as possible around the world to complete the short survey that is available at the following URL:

http://cc-crag.weebly.com/2017-survey.html

It really only takes a few minutes, but your feedback is extremely important in helping to shape the future of the Central Council and potentially, in turn, the future of ringing in general.  Please share the link to this survey will any other ringers you can – ringers in your own tower, neighbouring towers, ringing friends – ANY ringers you know!

If you want to know more about what CRAG have been doing since they were set up last year, please go to the KCACR website and look under County News – http://kcacr.org.uk/category/county_news/.

Whitechapel Foundry Tour – CANCELLED

Due to various issues and the fact that Whitechapel are no longer going to be at their current site in May 2017, I have had to cancel the tour that was to form part of the District Outing next year.  The outing is still going ahead, watch here for more details.

District Outing 2017 – Update

****Update – only 9 tickets left for the foundry tour****

Following on from the previous notice on the website back in September, I am pleased to confirm that we will be heading into London on Saturday 20th May 2017.

Slightly different to the usual outing, the morning (10am to 11.30am) will include a tour of Whitechapel Bell Foundry.  It’s an opportunity to see what goes on in a working foundry, as well as see the museum displays and visit the shop. Tickets are £15 per person (over 14 years old only) but numbers limited – there are only a total of 24 available (some of which have already gone), so if you would like to join the tour please let me know ASAP to secure your ticket.

Even if you don’t get a ticket for the foundry tour, there will also be an afternoon itinerary of ringing (all towers are confirmed) & lunch as follows:

12.00 – 12.45 – Spitalfields (8)

13.00 – 14.15 – Lunch @ The Hoop & Grapes (TBC)

14.30 – 15.15 – St. Olave, Hart Street (8)
15.45 – 16.30 – St. James, Garlickhythe (8) (Royal Jubilee Bells)
17.00 – 17.45 – St. Clement Danes (10)

All travel to/from London will be by public transport and between towers on foot.  Tower fees will be £2 per person per tower, so a total of £8 for all 4 towers.  If you would like to attend, either both the foundry and towers or just the towers, please let me know.

More details will follow nearer the time.
